Privacy Policy

1Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Unity Institute Inc., operating as Unity Institute ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our websites, purchase or use our products, programs, and advisory services, or otherwise interact with us. By using our Platform or purchasing from us, you agree to the practices described here.

2Who We Are

Unity Institute is an education and advisory business offering courses, programs, memberships, digital materials, and advisory and consulting services. For the purposes of Canadian privacy law we are the organization responsible for the personal information under our control. Our privacy contact is set out in Section 17.

3Information We Collect

Category	Examples
Identity & contact	Name, email, phone number, mailing/billing address, and, for corporate clients, company and role.
Account & purchase	Login credentials, purchase history, program enrolment, and support requests.
Payment	Payment method details are collected and processed by our payment processor. We receive confirmation and limited transaction data; we do not store full card numbers.
Program information	Responses to intake forms, questionnaires, assessments, and information you choose to share during a program or session.
Usage & device	IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and interactions, collected through cookies and analytics.
Communications	Emails, messages, and records of your interactions with us.

Some program intake information may be more sensitive in nature. We collect it only where you provide it for the purpose of delivering the program, and we handle it with added care and confidentiality.

4How We Collect It

We collect personal information directly from you (when you purchase, register, fill in a form, or contact us), automatically through cookies and analytics as you use our Platform, and occasionally from third parties such as our payment processor, analytics providers, or partners who refer you, in each case as permitted by law.

5How We Use Information

To provide, deliver, and support the products, programs, and services you purchase.
To process payments, manage payment plans and subscriptions, and prevent fraud.
To communicate with you about your account, purchases, and program updates.
To send marketing and educational communications where you have consented, with the ability to opt out at any time.
To improve our Offerings, Platform, and customer experience, including analytics.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

In Canada, we collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent (express or implied) for the purposes identified here, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, though doing so may limit our ability to provide certain Offerings. For electronic marketing messages, we rely on your consent as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

Service providers who process information on our behalf (see Section 8).
Program facilitators and advisors involved in delivering the Offering you purchased, bound by confidentiality.
Legal and safety disclosures where required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of any person.
Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

8Service Providers

We use the following third-party providers to operate our business:

Kajabi — website, course hosting, and checkout.
Payment processors — Stripe, PayPal, and Klarna.
Email & CRM — Kajabi Email and Pipedrive.
Scheduling & forms — Calendly and Jotform.
Analytics & platform services — Google Analytics and Meta.

These providers are authorized to use personal information only as necessary to provide services to us and are expected to protect it. Their handling of your data is also subject to their own privacy policies.

9Cookies & Tracking

We use essential, functional, and analytics cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Platform works.

10Marketing & Communications

With your consent, we send educational and promotional emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and our identifying and contact information, consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can opt out of marketing at any time; we will still send transactional messages related to your purchases and account.

11Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, to provide ongoing access you have purchased, and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

12Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information to protect it against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13International Transfers

We and our service providers may store and process personal information in Canada or other countries. Where information is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed, including lawful access by courts and authorities. We take reasonable steps to ensure personal information remains protected through appropriate contractual, administrative, and technical safeguards.

14Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Request deletion of your information, subject to legal and operational retention needs.
Withdraw consent to marketing or, where applicable, to other processing.

To exercise these rights, contact us using Section 17. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy regulator.

15Children's Privacy

Our general Offerings are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without verifiable parental or guardian consent. Where an Offering is designed for a minor, it must be purchased or authorized by a parent or legal guardian, who provides consent for the minor's participation and the collection and use of information required to deliver the Offering. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it. 16Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, communicated to you. Your continued use of our Offerings after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
